  • We will apply for permit for ( P.A.P) and ( R.A.P) for our guest, guest are required to send their required Documents / ID Cards and Passport Size Photos over the Whatsapp / Email ( 9144405550 / [email protected]) well in advance for a hassle-free Experience.
  • Vehicle will be Provided on Point to Point Basis as per the Itinerary ( Not on Disposable Basis)
  • Any Parking Charges, Monument/Point/Park Entry fees will be borne by the guest on Actuals

FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)

There are several modes of transportation to reach Sikkim i.e. Flight, Train, or Bus. Almost every trip to Sikkim starts from Gangtok which is the Capital City of Sikkim as well.

Reach Sikkim / Gangtok by Flight

The nearest major airport to Gangtok is Bagdogra Airport (IXB) also known as Siliguri Airport. Distance from Bagdogra Airport to Gangtok is approx 120 KM which will take roughly 4-5 hours of road journey. Sikkim has its own airport as well which is only 30 KM away from Gangtok. This airport’s name is Pakyong Airport ( PYG) located in Pakyong Town but this airport has very little connectivity of flights.

Reach Sikkim/Gangtok by Train or Bus

If you are planning to come by train then you can book your tickets to New Jalpaiguri Junction (NJP) or Siliguri Junction (SGUJ). NJP to Gangtok is around 118 KM while from Siliguri Junction it will be around 112 KM away. You can reach Siliguri by bus as well which is well connected to nearby cities like Kolkata.

No! You can enter and visit Sikkim without any permit. However, you need to get a permit to visit specific places which falls under ( P.A.P and R.A P) i.e. You are required to get a permit to visit Nathula Pass, Changu Lake & Baba Mandir in the Eastern Part of Sikkim and North Sikkim (Lachen & Lachung) which will be arranged by authorized tour operator only. There is no permit required to visit Gangtok, West Sikkim (Pelling) & South Sikkim (Namchi, Ravangla, Buddha Park, etc).

Nathula Pass is a mountain pass that connects Sikkim with Tibet. Nathula Pass remains closed on Monday and Tuesday. However, it often gets closed due to security issues, Indo-China tension and landslides. You should always check for the latest information before planning to visit Nathula Pass. You need a special permit to visit Nathula Pass, you can talk to your Travel Agent / Tour Operator if you wish to visit Nathula Pass.

You can obtain a Sikkim Travel Card from the Sikkim Tousim Department official Website : www.sikkimtourism.gov.in
You need to upload scanned copies of passport-sized photograph and 1 ID Proof (Passport or Voter Card or Driving License). Sikkim Travel Card will be issued instantaneously after completing the procedure online. In case of any difficulty you can contact us we will be happy to help you.

Sikkim is one of that destination where you can visit at any time of the year though we don’t advise you to travel Sikkim in the monsoon season of the year i.e. July and August. *Tsomgo lake is also known as Changu Lake, located at an altitude of 12,313 ft (3,753 m) in East Sikkim.

Sikkim, state in India,is located in the northeastern part of the country, in the eastern Himalayas. It is one of the smallest states in India. Long a sovereign political entity, Sikkim became a protectorate of India in 1950 and an Indian state in 1975. Its small size notwithstanding, Sikkim is of great political and strategic importance for India because of its location along several international boundaries. People and Culture

The People of Sikkim consist of three ethnic groups, that is, Lepcha, Bhutia and Nepali. Communities of different hues intermingle freely in Sikkim to constitute a homogenous blend. Hindu Temples coexist with Buddhist Monasteries, Churches, Mosque and Gurudwara. The predominant Communities are Lepchas, Bhutias and Nepalese. These myriad Cultures has produced a quintessential Sikkimese Culture that encompasses all ways and walk of life, but has also managed to preserve their own identity. These can also be seen in the various places of Worship, Festivals and Cultural dances that are celebrated through the year

The native Sikkimese consist of the Bhutias, who migrated from the Kham district of Tibet in the 14th century, and the Lepchas, who are believed to have migrated from the Far East. Tibetans reside mostly in the northern and eastern reaches of the state. Migrant resident communities include Bengalis, Biharis and Marwaris,who are prominent in commerce in South Sikkim and Gangtok.

Language

The official languages of the state are English, Nepali, Sikkimese (Bhutia) and Lepcha. Additional official languages include Gurung, Limbu, Magar, Mukhia, Newari, Rai, Sherpa and Tamang for the purpose of preservation of culture and tradition in the state.

Nepali is the lingua franca of Sikkim, while Sikkimese (Bhutia) and Lepcha are spoken in certain areas. English is also spoken and understood in most of Sikkim. Other languages include Dzongkha, Groma, Hindi, Majhi, Majhwar, Thulung, Tibetan, and Yakha.

The major languages spoken as per census 2001 are Nepali (62.61%), Sikkimese (Bhutia) (7.73%), Hindi (6.67%), Lepcha (6.61%), Limbu (6.34%), Sherpa (2.57%), Tamang (1.87%) and Rai (1.64%)
